It seems later news messages about the newly found copy in Kent are much better informed about the number of existing copies of this version. However, I was unable today to find a list of these copies at the website of the British Library in their section http://www.bl.uk/magna-carta . A Canadian website about Magna Carta, http://www.magnacartacanada.ca/883/ , gives us the correct list with the six other copies: "The six copies of Magna Carta from 1300, engrossed with the royal seal of Edward I are housed in libraries, archives, universities and churches in the United Kingdom. These documents are in the collections of Westminster Abbey, the City of London, Faversham Town Council, Durham Cathedral, Oriel College at Oxford and the Bodleian library. " At http://magnacarta800.org.uk/themagnacarta.html the Society of Antiquaries in London is also credited with having a copy of the 1300 version, I suppose this is the City of London copy, but I woulde like to be a bit more sure.
