"The IPC houses a Paralympic Archive at its Bonn headquarters. It was established as a resource for the IPC Management Team as well as external scholars conducting research on the Paralympic Movement.

The archive offers an insight to the IPC, the Paralympic Games and World and Regional Championships in various Paralympic sports.

It consists of:

Library: Currently comprised of about 1,000 books, 105 periodicals and numerous flyers, brochures and leaflets that discuss everything from the history of Paralympic Sport and the Paralympic Games to medical science and sport sociology....

Archives: Contain hard-copy and electronic records of everything from press clippings and maps to torches and medals from previous competitions. The photo archive currently contains about 52,000 digital images, in addition to 1,000 paper photographs and slides.

Exhibition: Organizations, companies and individuals worldwide can benefit from the IPC Exhibition which features many items from the archive and showcase the history of the Paralympic Movement. The idea of creating a permanent International Paralympic Museum and Heritage Centre or a Paralympic Museum has been discussed and hopes to be achieved in the near future.

The IPC is always looking for further Paralympic Games memorabilia and records, particularly materials from the early Games. The IPC seeks more objects to compliment its collections of torches, medals, pins, flyers, posters, flags photographs and footage. Books are accepted as well into the IPC’s library, and all donors receive a special mention on the first page of their donated book.

For further information or to donate your items, please send your inquiry to archive@paralympic.org.. "
