Yamasaki Revisited from bill kubota on Vimeo.

In 2010 the Michigan State Archives rescued artifacts of the failed Yamasaki architecture firm destined for a landfill. Minoru Yamasaki died in 1986 but in the early 1960s was amongst the most prominent Asian Americans after winning the commission to design the World Trade Center. He and fellow Detroit area architect Eero Saarinen were leading designers of international stature in the late 1950s. Soon Saarinen and Yamasaki would be reviled by critics on the East Coast. Saarinen's status has been partially resurrected in recent years, but as of now Yama's legacy remains in history's dustbin.
