Yesterday's flurry of messages resulted in the following being sent to me by a fellow subscriber. they have given me permission to repost here.

One, Brian to do the unsubscribing, six to ask why they are being
unsubscribed from the list, three to ask to what list they were
subscribed, three to quote a previous message from the list
administrator explaining what was happening, two more to hit reply and
copy all the messages in one and say "I got one of those messages,
too!," three more to explain from which list everyone was being
unsubscribed...

I've lost track, but what are the other 1584 subscribers doing?
