Inserted as a fly-leaf (recto) is half an unperfected quarto sheet (one page, signed Aiii) of an unidentified work on Latin prosody printed by Gregorius Böttiger of Leipzig who was active ca 1492-6. On verso of same sheet are latin verses on St Jerome & other inscriptions, with below: 'A ...[?] Johanne Z[?]ermeza Abbate 1571'. On end free endpaper recto is a Latin letter of 10 lines from the Venetians to Charles VIII of France and a 19 line reply from Charles ; on verso, lines in French and Latin ; on end pastedown is a 24 line epitaph in Latin verse on Albert III, Duke of Saxony, beginning: 'Hic iacet albertus qui theutonus alter achilles'. Fragments of medieval MSS used as guards at both ends
